I’ve been speaking about how our new Mayor could (if they decided to) raise a Mayoral Tax on people across Lincolnshire.
I’m the only candidate in this election so far who has committed to not raising any new taxes - ensuring that this new money we get from Government delivers better jobs, roads and buses.
I’ll also attract new investment for our area, to deliver infrastructure projects and more local services for people at all stages of life, and make the whole of our County a better place to live and work for you and your family.
Meanwhile, Labour Mayors across the country have raised Mayoral Taxes to pay for their spending decisions.
And the Government are now consulting on forcing Councils to raise Council Tax by the maximum amount, or they'll receive less funding in grants towards things like roads and social care.
With our Mayor, we can do things differently and set our own course.
My pledge to you is that as Mayor, I will bring in more money and investment from elsewhere. I will deliver a plan for every community right throughout Lincolnshire, and not increase your tax burden.
